Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Lackey uses, why, and the choices you have. Lackey is a family organizer used by parents. It is run by Brandy Lackey. Contact: brandy.g.lackey@gmail.com.
Google data we access
When you connect a Google account, you choose what to allow. Lackey requests only these permissions:
- Basic profile (OpenID, email address, name): to sign you in and show which account is connected.
- Gmail, read only: to read messages from the school senders you choose. Lackey does not read other mail, and it cannot send, delete, label or change any email.
- Google Calendar, read only: to read the calendars and events you pick. Lackey cannot create, edit or delete events.
How we use it
Google data is used only to build your family's calendar, tasks and daily plan inside Lackey. It is shown only to the parents in your household account. We do not use it for any other purpose.
What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never use your data for advertising, and Lackey shows no ads.
- We never share or transfer your data to third parties, except when required by law or to protect someone's safety.
- We never use your data to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- No person reads your email content, except with your clear permission for support, when needed for security, or when required by law.
Limited Use disclosure
Lackey's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and security
Your data is owned by you, the parent. It is stored on the computer that runs Lackey, and Google access tokens are encrypted at rest. Connections use encrypted HTTPS. Access is limited to signed in parents in your household.
Capture
When you use Capture to add an item from a photo or note, processing stays on your device or on the computer that runs Lackey.
Retention
We keep only what is needed to build your plan. Email snippets and details pulled from school messages are removed on a rolling schedule, and backups that contain family data are deleted after 30 days. When you disconnect a Google account, its tokens are deleted and syncing stops.
Revoking access and deleting data
- Disconnect any Google account inside Lackey on the Connections page.
- Remove Lackey at any time from your Google Account permissions page: myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- To delete all of your data, email brandy.g.lackey@gmail.com. We will delete it, including backups, within 30 days.
Children's data
Lackey is used by parents, not by children. It is not directed to children under 13, and children do not have accounts. Information about children, such as school events and assignments, is entered or connected by a parent and stays under that parent's control. We respect the privacy of student records under FERPA, and school information is used only to help your family stay organized.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and tell parents in the app before the change applies.
